Linda Carter, customer since 2017. Carrier 24ABC condenser, installed 2009, 16 years old. Last visit Aug 2024 noted weak capacitor reading. Filter is 16×25×1, replaced last spring. Two dogs in the back yard, gate code 1842. Prefers text updates.
She says it's making a clicking sound and not cooling. Where do I start?

Clicking with no cooling on a 16-year-old Carrier usually points to the capacitor or contactor. The capacitor was already flagged weak last August. Start there: pull the disconnect, check the microfarad reading, and swap it if it's below spec.
