Coil SMS Programs
Coil operates two separate SMS programs. Each has its own opt-in flow, message scope, and unsubscribe path. Both are described in full below.

Program 1 — Coil SMS Agent
For HVAC business owners who want to text Coil's AI assistant from their phone. Available to AI Office subscribers who explicitly opt in.
What it is
The Coil SMS Agent lets owners and managers of HVAC businesses text our AI assistant to:
- Check the day's or week's schedule.
- Create or reschedule jobs ("Schedule Bob Smith tomorrow at 2pm for a service call").
- Look up customer contact info or job status.
- Get summaries of dispatch state.
It's a B2B-only program. Under this program Coil does not message homeowners. Coil does not send marketing or promotional content over SMS.
How to opt in (optional)
- Sign up for the Coil AI Office tier on askcoil.com. SMS opt-in is not required to use AI Office.
- During the optional "Link your phone" signup step, enter your mobile number and check the consent box — or click Skip for now to continue without SMS. Existing AI Office users can opt in from Settings → SMS Agent at any time, or never.
- If you opt in, you'll receive one confirmation text. Reply

Program 2 — Coil Front Desk
For homeowners and commercial customers who text an HVAC shop that uses Coil Front Desk. The shop publishes a dedicated phone number; customers initiate the conversation.
What it is
Coil Front Desk is the inbound customer-communication channel for independent HVAC service businesses that subscribe to Coil's Front Desk add-on. When a customer texts the shop's published Front Desk phone number, Coil's platform sends an automated acknowledgement reply on the shop's behalf, then the shop's office staff follow up over the same thread with scheduling, pricing, and service details.
Brand: Coil (a service of Coil HVAC LLC), operating the messaging infrastructure on behalf of the contracted HVAC shop.
How opt-in works
Customers initiate the conversation by texting the shop's Front Desk phone number, which the shop publishes through whatever channels they use to advertise to their customers (examples include the shop's website, Google Business listing, paper invoices, printed materials, and direct customer communication). By sending a message to that number, the customer opts in to receive an automated acknowledgement reply and follow-up communication from the shop's office staff on the same thread.
Front Desk is not used for promotional or marketing messages. Every message sent under this program is in direct response to a customer-initiated conversation.

Frequency, rates, opt-out
- Message frequency is low — typically one acknowledgement per inbound message, plus follow-up replies from the shop as the conversation progresses.

Privacy (both programs)
Coil does not share, sell, or rent phone numbers or SMS opt-in data to third parties for marketing purposes under either program. Phone numbers and message content are used solely to operate the program the user enrolled in.
